Former striker Sergio Aguero has sued Barca for 3 million euros after he retired 3 years ago.
The former Argentine striker ended his professional career in December 2021 after being diagnosed with a heart condition. Just six months earlier, Aguero left Man City to join Barca ahead of the 2021/22 season, but his journey at the Camp Nou team came to an early end.
At the time of Aguero’s retirement, it seemed like things were going smoothly between him and Barca. However, a recent report from Mundo Deportivo revealed that Aguero had asked for €3 million from Barca.
According to Barca’s annual financial report from the 2023/24 financial year, the club has received a settlement notice from Aguero for the same amount that the Man City legend believes Barca owes him under the terms of his contract.
Mundo Deportivo also said that a mediation took place between the two parties on June 21, 2024, and the matter is currently being considered by the social court. Barca still maintain that they do not have any official records regarding this request.
