Kylian Mbappe was not included in the 25-man list of the French national team for the two Nations League matches against Israel and Belgium. The 25-year-old striker has just recovered from an injury. Therefore, coach Didier Deschamps did not call him up to limit any risk of injury recurrence.

Mbappe has been spending his free time with friends since he was not competing. The 2018 World Cup winner dined at a restaurant and went to a nightclub in Stockholm, Sweden, last Thursday. Notably, Mbappe had an unfortunate incident during his trip to Sweden.

Specifically, according to Aftonbladet (Sweden), Kylian Mbappe committed rape at a hotel. The victim reported to the police on Saturday after seeking medical attention.

Authorities immediately launched an investigation. A prosecutor investigating the allegation told AFP: “An investigation is underway into the crime reported on October 10 in central Stockholm.”

For his part, Mbappe has denied the allegations. On the social network X, the French striker wrote: “It’s fake news. Too predictable. This happened right before the hearing. What a coincidence.”

Kylian Mbappe appears to have referred to the hearing regarding his lawsuit against former club PSG. Previously, Mbappe claimed that PSG still owed him 55 million euros in wages.

Mbappe’s team hit back at the allegations in a statement to AFP: “Today, a new defamatory rumour has started circulating on the web from Swedish media outlet Aftonbladet. These allegations are completely false and irresponsible, and their dissemination is unacceptable.

To put an end to this methodical destruction of (Kylian Mbappe’s) image, all necessary legal action will be taken to re-establish the truth and prosecute any individuals or media involved in the moral harassment and defamation that Kylian Mbappe is continuously subjected to.”
